03 Apr Ladies who play golf live longer!
The British Journal of Sports Medicine has published a study suggesting that people who play golf live longer than those who do not. Researchers reviewed 5,000 studies into golf and found it had physical and mental health benefits for people of all ages. Balance and muscle endurance were improved by playing the sport and it was also likely to improve cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic health. The game of golf is wonderful for the psyche. It keeps the mind alert and can provide an excellent social scene.
Now, there is the golden opportunity for local ladies to test this theory for themselves!
Bracken Ghyll Golf Club in Addingham (known locally, as ‘the friendly club’) is offering a ‘Get into Golf’ programme specifically for Ladies.
There will be 2 free taster sessions on Tuesday April 30th at 2:00 and Tuesday May 7th at 6:00 where ladies can try their hand at the game with all equipment provided.
For those who would like to pursue the opportunity, there will be a further 6 week programme of group golf lessons covering each aspect of the game. Participants will have access to all practice facilities and the clubhouse as well as being able to play on the course at non peak times for three months all for only £99.
